IAPB: Focus on Diabetes

The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness, with support from Bayer, the Vision Academy and DR Barometer, is hosting Focus on Diabetes. Through a series of webinars to mark World Diabetes Day, Focus on Diabetes will be addressing the inequity of access to care to reduce avoidable vision loss.

Focus on Diabetes will host numerous world-class experts from 12 - 19 November 2021. The online event will explore ways to prioritise diabetes to reduce vision loss, achieve better prevention through integrated people-centred strategies, management and treatment, and activate patients to improve health outcomes.

Jude Stern, Head of Knowledge Management for IAPB said “With Focus on Diabetes, we are encouraging attendees to consider ‘Access to Care’. Millions of people are currently living with diabetes, and the condition is predicted to increase. It is crucial that as a sector we develop a deep understanding to ensure everyone has access to the information and treatments they need to maintain healthy eyes and vision.”
