Corneal suturing is an essential skill for all ophthalmologists, but with reduced training opportunities is becoming increasingly difficult to master.
The Moorfield’s corneal suturing and penetrating keratoplasty course, delivered by corneal surgeons at Moorfields, will provide hands on experience in corneal suturing on model and human corneas, for those wishes to learn or master this skill. The day will also include lecture-based theoretical content.

Key learning outcomes
Learn and practice common corneal suturing techniques on real and model corneas
Learn and practice the steps of a penetrating keratoplasty
Learn the indications for corneal transplantation, common complications and how to manage these.
Who is this course for?
This course is intended for Junior Doctors and Ophthalmology Registrars. The course will provide learning opportunities for those wishing to expand their corneal suturing skills and introduce ophthalmological surgical skills to those considering a career in ophthalmology.

CPD Certification
CPD points will be applied for and certificate of attendance will be awarded at the end of the course.
