October 3, 2024 – Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Biotech Healthcare hosted the Global Phakic Users Meeting 2024 at the stunning Joan Miró Foundation in Barcelona on 5th September. Bringing together over 150 ophthalmologists from 28 countries, the event showcased Biotech's flagship Eyecryl Phakic intraocular lens (IOL), now marking a decade of transforming vision worldwide.

The event featured insightful presentations from industry leaders. Dr. Sri Ganesh (India), shared his two-year clinical results with the Eyecryl Phakic Toric IOL, boasting an impressive 97.6% patient satisfaction at 24 months, with most enjoying complete freedom from spectacles.
Prof. Dr. Jorge Alió, a refractive surgeon from Spain, described Eyecryl Phakic as a game-changer in complex cases, praising its “predictable visual outcomes, even where other lenses fall short.” He also highlighted the “U” IOL cartridge, which ensures smooth and precise implantation.
Adding to the excitement, Dr. Lamarca from Spain highlighted Biotech’s advanced vault prediction calculator, which integrates up to four WTW and ATA measurements for greater accuracy in lens sizing and minimized rotation, further enhancing procedural success.
Dr. Sanjay Chaudhary (India) highlighted that Eyecryl Phakic IOLs practically turns out to be the only preferred solution available providing high precision as piggyback lenses and in extreme myopic situations, where other Phakic IOLs are not available.
