The College of Optometrists has appointed Chris Steele FCOptom, DCLP, DipOC, DipTp(IP), FBCLA as the new Clinical Editor of Acuity, the College’s award-winning professional development journal.
Chris joins Acuity from his role as Consultant Hospital Optometrist and Head of Optometry Services at Sunderland Eye Infirmary where he led clinical services and developed a wide range of advanced optometric extended clinical roles.
Chris is the author of 110 publications in peer-reviewed and non-peer reviewed journals and author of two books. He is also editor and content provider for the I-Learn Training and CPD platform for Specsavers and he has served as an external examiner for Moorfields Eye Hospital/ UCL MSc Advanced Clinical practice in Ophthalmology and Optometry and for The College of Optometrists’ Postgraduate Higher Qualifications.
Chris will oversee all of Acuity’s editorial content related to clinical practice. The magazine is packed with news about the latest topics of discussion in optometry, advancements in optometric clinical practice, and offers articles with CPD points in each edition. Acuity is distributed to all members of The College of Optometrists who practice in the UK, as well as being available for members to download online.
