This prospective study aimed to quantify the vessel density of both the macular and optic nerve and foveal avascular zone (FAZ) values in 92 normal eyes of 92 children (42 boys, 50 girls) aged 13.4 ±2.65 years (seven to 18). There was no difference in gender for age, axial length and BMI. Girls had significantly larger zone for nonflow area and FAZ area. Boys had significantly greater vessel density at the fovea in the superficial (inner) capillary plexus and deep (outer) capillary plexus. OCTA measurements were not influenced by refraction. This study provides useful normative data to aid comparison of measurements for children with ocular disease.
