The purpose of this study was to share the experiences in treating paediatric ophthalmology patients during the pandemic and to report institution guidelines. A flowchart was devised for telephone triage and subsequent follow-up of patients through telemedicine or face to face contact. The paper outlines the risk of COVID-19 in ophthalmology because of aerosol contact and close proximity of ophthalmology examination. The authors identify the need to better define the clinical presence of COVID-19 in children and in practice, and to stratify patients according to the severity of the presenting symptoms.
